Overeating Still a Huge Problem!

34.9% of Americans are categorized as obese!  We already established that less than 12% of people have thyroid issues that affect weight loss.  Why are the other 20% of people gaining weight? Overeating!  Overeating is still the culprit behind most peoples weight loss problem.  They simply either eat too much during their meals for they have to eat all the time.

Tips for Under Eating!

1. Eat 5 meals, every 2-3 hours.  The best way to do this is to figure out your daily caloric needs and divide that by 5.  For example, if you need 2,000 calories a day. 2,000/5 = 400 calories per meal.

The benefit of this approach is that it evenly displaces your eating throughout the day.  No matter what you thought about the last meal, you  know another one is coming!

Most people overeat and underestimate the calories in what they eat.  When you eat 5 meals a day that you have preplanned and that fit into your calorie intake, you are more aware of what you put into your mouth, leading most people not to overeat.

Most people overeat on sugary foods or fat-carb combinations.  The way to avoid this is eat from a balanced approach.  You want to prepare your meals thinking lean protein, fat (good fat) then carbohydrates (good ones)!  Lean protein and fat are your allies in stumping out the urge to keep snacking.  If you question this, just remember the last time you ate a donut or a banana. What happened you either ate 5 in a sitting, or in 30 minutes you were back in the kitchen!

Processed Carbohydrates

Overeating saturated fat is a problem for many, but when it comes to weight loss, the latest research shows that processed carbohydrates can have a larger effect on your waist line that eating dietary fat.  Simply put, eating those donuts might cause you to gain more weight than eating the steak!

Tips for handling carbohydrates and losing weight!

Some carbohydrates need to be avoided like the plague.  First, all of the baked, deep fried, doughy, creamy, sugar coated treats need to be avoided at all costs, they are the epidemy of bad carbs, they encourage overeating, after all who can eat just one!

The Key to weight loss with carbs is timing and type! Next structure you carbohydrate like this, green leafy veggies, all types of lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, cabbage, zucchini, celery, burssel sprouts broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, green beans, green peppers, mushrooms etc priority on your plate.  Most people load up on rice, bread, and potatoes. The key to losing weight with carbs is to eat more of your veggies, and minimize the rice, bread and potatoes.
